ACTING SCHOOLS AND ACTING TEACHERS

Come to my acting school, it’s the best acting school….No, come to MY acting school, mine’s the best acting school. No, no, no, I studied with so and so, and so and so has studied with me, so mine’s the best acting school…and so on. What are all these acting teachers and acting school owners really saying? What are they peddling? Celebrity? Creative fulfillment? Sexual satisfaction? Financial freedom? Perhaps we are only peddling ourselves, the best versions of ourselves that we can be today and the best we have to offer, given what we learned and the grand mistakes we’ve made. It is only when acting teachers become competitive, insulting, and plagiarist of one another that the whole thing becomes a little absurd.
